Tanya in TexasI’m a college professor with many many hobbies and ‘likes’.  A “girly-girl” at heart, pink is my favorite color, teddy bears have been a thing of mine for as long as I can remember, and a single pink or raspberry rose or hibiscus flower speak more volumes to me than a dozen red roses ever could.  I am a hopeless romantic and believe that some of the “old-fashioned values” need to be brought back to relationships. You know the kind where ladies were truly ladies and men were gentlemen.

To me, it’s the ‘little things’ in life that mean more than any anniversary or holiday can bring. Simply sending me a text or getting my favorite cookie from the store (or, better yet, baking a fresh batch of chocolate chips) on a random Wednesday afternoon for no other reason than you know it’s a gesture that is sweet, unexpected, and greatly appreciated is what wins me over every time.

Travel is a passion of mine and I want to see all 50 States.  I’ve visited 26 so far and still have a ways to go.  Wine tasting is something I enjoy immensely and have even volunteered at and attended the Javits Center Wine Expo the last two years.  I even took the Travel Channel Academy Bootcamp to learn how to use a Mac and camera and shoot and edit a piece that (may be) TV or website worthy!  The last five years, I have not missed checking out the Tribeca Film Fest.  This last year, I discovered I am a Parrothead, too, and will be attending my second Buffett concert in 3 months.

I am a person who is open, honest, and looking for someone who is the same.

Relationships are the hardest thing we will ever need to work on and too many people take the notion for granted. If you are someone who realizes that “good things come to those who wait” and that a little bit of effort goes a long way, then you understand a bit about me. I am the type who thinks the little things count, that making someone feel special ‘just because’ makes me feel special, and that patience can help us work through most of life’s issues.
